Do you feel happy that you just paid for an all inclusive executive vacation? ?

November 30th, 2008 -- Posted in spa inclusive | 14 Comments »

AIG executives just spent $440,000 for weekend get away.

“Less than a week after the federal government committed $85 billion to bail out AIG, executives of the giant AIG insurance company headed for a week-long retreat at a luxury resort and spa, the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, California.”

Do you think you will be able to afford a vacation this year, or are you planning a ’stay-cation’ at home?

440,000 for one weekend? Wow, that would pay off my house, student loan and then some. These people need to be brought to justice.

Where should I elope to??? think warm, spa, quiet, cheap?

November 30th, 2008 -- Posted in spa cheap | 2 Comments »

I live in Michigan, and I am planning on eloping some where between August and November of next year. My fiance and I have been researching the Florida Keys, Mexico, and Hawaii, but I really want to stay somewhere quaint, quiet, romantic, etc, and those places seem hard to come by. Did you elope?? Where to? Thank you!

Add some details of where you live, because that matters when it comes to cost of travel… But initially I would suggest Arizona, if you want to stay in the States so you don't have to deal with an international marriage license. (I am assuming you are in the USA)… AZ is going to be pretty hot until late September, so again it depends on when you need to get this thing done! Add some details to your question and I'll check back later…

*Added later: Oh no, I can't contact you privately! That's OK. Yes, my husband and I "eloped," basically. His family knew, mine didn't ;) (They love him now), but it was only the two of us actually at the time we got married! At the time we were living abroad, though, and we eloped to Cyprus (little island off the coast of Greece), which was really close and convenient for us. We have been married over 5 years now, proved everyone wrong basically (except his family, talk about supportive, wow..!!) and we are still so happy and even "shmoopie" at times!!

As far as your questions goes, the hard aspects are going to be "quiet" and "cheap," with the hardest being "cheap!" ("Cheap" is also relative, so I should have asked you for a price range. But I mean, this is your wedding and you won't have any guests to worry about!)

You live in Mich? Been there many times, as my family has a house up in Omena, near Traverse City. Gosh, I haven't been there in ages, though. I live in AZ now and when I get back to the Northeast I want to visit family in NY, PA, MA… Anyway..!!!

Here we go. The only place I can really recommend to you first-hand is Arizona. I would recommend the Royal Palms Resort & Spa in Scottsdale if you can get in during the off-season, which is basically through September if not October. Travelocity's "Last Minute Deals" often has deals to the Royal Palms. If you get one, and tell the Palms why you are coming (after you have your reservations), no doubt they will give you the Royal treatment, no pun intended! A link to Travelocity's Last Minute Deals site: http://travelocity.lmdeals.com/?Service=TRAVELOCITY

Also, check out this great website about eloping, and get the book ASAP so you can have something to leaf through while you're thinking of ideas! http://honeymoons.about.com/cs/toppicks/a/letselope.htm
Here is a link for "inexpensive getaways:"

Just click all over "about.com," it's a great site. And last of all, have you every heard of an "all-inclusive" resort? Check out this website to get an idea of what they are all about. If I was living in the USA and wanted to elope, I would seriously consider an "all-inclusive," because just about everything is paid up front, including hotel, food, drinks… even tips!
http://www.allinclusiveoutlet.com/
Travelocity has a section for all-inclusive as well, sometimes including airfare.

Hey girl, good luck and congrats in advance. You can contact me privately to let me know what you decide to do (if you want to). Just remember, don't take anything too seriously, even your relationship, and just keep things real between you and your honey, do what is best for you (yes, you, not you and him) first and don't forget about giving back, and compromise but don't compromise yourself. One of the many mottos of my (successful) marriage is "No one is holding you here," meaning that every day when we wake up we make a conscious choice to stay together, live together, love each other and grow together. You'll be fine :) Have a great time wherever you end up eloping to!!!

Sister demanding Money and more. Am I wrong for refusing to give her money?

November 30th, 2008 -- Posted in spa hawaii | 7 Comments »

1st, She is demanding money on a monthly basis(I have no kids with her) we’ve been a 2years relationship an now we live apart. She in Texas and Im in Hawaii. I told her that April 09, is our year to get engage but she feels that I dont do nuff for her now, like pay for her hair, nails and spas. I have never did this before unless its was her birthday or a special day in the year(Holidays). I have purchased a few items such Diamond earings, Necklace and Watch. All over a 2year period. But, Im still not doing enough. Lately, I purchased a battery for her car and two months of carwashes. I dont mind helping out on certain things but her nails/hair/clothes I feel its her job to handle those items. I do send her a few shirts but I dont like trying to guess what she like in clothes. Finally, she says she wants a 8-10k ring(I’m in the military) and then she wants a 4-5k wedding band. That shit is crazy, i cant afford it an she knows this. I know she is into the material objects and what other people are saying about what she is wearing. I do Love Her alot but now Im feeling that its a Love loss!! Please Sister, give a Black Man some sound advice. Im very open minded and I take comments well as long as its specific and not just B.S. Thank u, J.
She is not my sister. I agree with you about telling her, ive done it. Should I walk away? Fight for her an give in?
Ok she is NOT my Sister, she is a Black Woman.
Leave her after 2years of work? I agree thats its a uphill battle but al of my Brothers are running. Im trying to stay an work thru it

Lose the gold-digging broad and put your money into further education. You’ll gain a lot more that way, including a better chance of finding a better choice to marry.

Hi, you are asking this under Thailand category. No wonder you have people confused. Anyway, Nirwana Resort is publishing room rates from S$220 up. I guess if you contact the hotel directly, you may be able to get some discount from that price.

Look up this link for your info: http://www.nirwanagardens.com.

As for the ferry cost I guess from Singapore to Bintan, from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, check this link: http://www.bintanlagoon.com and/or http://www.brf.com.sg

Have a good time.
